Ooni’s perforated turning pizza peel will help you make the perfect pizza down to the tiniest detail. This tool allows you to turn your pizza half-way through the baking process, directly in the oven. That means the pizza will bake faster, look more even, and taste even more delicious. Keep in mind that removing your pizza from the oven to turn it while it’s still baking is not recommended. Why not? Because your pizza is going to lose a lot of heat. And what’s the result if that happens? A less than exceptional crust. Well, what if you just don’t turn it? Your pizza will bake unevenly (i.e., burnt on one side!) But fear not, this turning peel could solve all your problems!
That said, this peel does not allow you to place your pizza in the oven or to remove it. To do that, you will need a wooden or metal pizza peel.
If you have a wooden pizza peel, you *really* have no other option but to buy a turning peel. The thickness of the wooden peel makes it difficult to remove your pizzas from the oven. You’ll need to use a turning peel with your other hand to support the pizza. We recommend that you always keep a turning peel at hand: a must-have for all your summer pizza parties.
