The disadvantage of a solid pizza peel is that the dough tends to stick more than when using a perforated or wooden peel. That said, it’s perfect for those who want to bake a large pizza, without spending money on a perforated peel. In any case, be sure to sprinkle a little more flour on the peel if you want it to slide under the crust better.

Gi. Metal’s solid rectangular pizza peel is made from anodized aluminum. What in the world does that mean? Well, first of all, this material makes the peel lighter than traditional models, but just as sturdy. Secondly, anodized aluminum is corrosion resistant (goodbye rust) and can withstand high temperatures (a must-have for your 900° F pizza oven!) Finally, it’s easy to maintain and scratch-resistant. So, say basta to those pesky smudges and fingerprints. Now isn’t that wonderful?
