The disadvantage of a solid pizza peel is that the dough tends to stick more than when using a perforated or wooden peel. In any case, be sure to add a little more flour if you want it to slide under the crust better.

Can’t decide between a round or rectangular pizza peel? Well, rectangular peels are what we personally recommend. Traditional and easy to use, these peels have a larger surface area that’s in contact with the pizza. However, round peels are more versatile. With their smaller surface area, it’s easier for pizzaiolos to pick up the pizza, as well as turn it.
